Two Texas-based telemarketers are fined $225 million for making illegal robocalls. The fine is the largest in the Federal Communications Commission’s history. The FCC has established a new anti-robocall team to coordinate the fines. The fines are likely to be the biggest in the history of the call-calls industry in the U.S. Two years ago, the fines were only $208.4 million, according to the Wall Street Journal. The commission has also set up a new team to enforce its own rules against robocall calls.
