Locating Hoxhunt in Outlook

Overview #

The Hoxhunt button is automatically distributed to you by your organization’s Administrators. You don’t need to install anything on your computer, this is done centrally by your Microsoft Office Admin.

Once the button is distributed, it will be visible in your email client. If it is not visible, please first check this article and only then reach out to your internal IT support team for assistance.

Locating Hoxhunt button in Outlook on Desktop 2013 or later #

If Hoxhunt button has been distributed to you, it is located in the toolbar.

Locating Hoxhunt in Outlook on the Web #

If Hoxhunt button has been distributed to you, it is located in one of two places:

Option 1 #

In the ribbon when you open an email

Option 2 #

If you can’t see the Hoxhunt button on the ribbon, you should find it behind the burger menu

Scroll down and select Hoxhunt Report from the list to report the email to Hoxhunt.

If you are asked to allow the action, select Allow.

TIP: You can also pin the Hoxhunt button to the message toolbar. For detailed instructions please check this article.

UPDATE: Admin-installed add-in will be automatically pinned in Outlook on the Web starting 21 April, 2021. Whether it applies to add-ins installed before that date is still unclear.

Locating Hoxhunt button in Outlook for Desktop 2010 #

If you are using Outlook 2010, then Hoxhunt button will only work on the computer it is installed on and will not be visible on your mobile devices (Outlook Mobile) or Outlook on the Web (OWA).

In most cases, the Hoxhunt button for Outlook 2010 is centrally distributed by your IT support. If you are unable to locate Hoxhunt button, please contact your local IT support for further assistance.
